Who else wants a Vision Board?

Hey Guys,

I am so happy to share with you, my first vision board of 2017.

I put off doing my first vision board because I knew that we were going to dedicating a few hours of work time to make one late in January, so why not wait and do it on company time LOL! We had a “vision board party”, my entire team and I came together and had an amazing time designing our vision boards based on goals that we set for ourselves for the New Year. We had such a great time chatting and helping each other go through all of the magazines, the room was full of laughter, crafting, and candy all of my favorite things.

I am a HUGE advocate for vision boards, I have created at least one a year for the last 10 or so years and every year at least one of my goals manifests in my life and it is the most amazing feeling.
I strongly recommend doing your own vision board and place it somewhere that you will see it every single day.

Let me share with you why having a vision board is so important to me, a vision board is an amazing tool that you can use to help you visualize your dreams and goals. Because visualization is one of the most powerful exercises that you can do for your mind, having a vision board helps you to concentrate your thoughts on the goals that you have set for yourself with intent and images you are able to see and visualize your life and goals clearly.

Your mind is so amazing, if you concentrate on what you want in life you will get it. So if you focus on positive things you will attract positivity in your life. But if you focus on negative things you will get more negativity in your life. So focusing your mind on your goals should have a positive feeling behind them and seeing them in front of you every day will associate positivity and allow for them to start manifesting in your life.

But don’t just think these things will poof and manifest out of thin air, there are some actions that you will need to take. Trust me I wish my vision board could magically bring me all of the amazing things but that is not how it works. You will need to take small steps to help you reach your goals. If you want me to go into more detail on how this works, please leave me a comment below.

Hopefully, me sharing my vision board with you will inspire you to create your own. If you want a step by step guide on how to create your own vision board, please make sure you are receiving my newsletters.

I hope your year is off to a great start, I know mine is.

Dare to Dream

So for some reason in the past week and a half, it seems like the topic of “Dream Jobs” has been the topic of discussion. I love that people especially around my age can still dream about their “Dream Job”, but my only question is:

What is holding you back from going after you dream job?

follow your dreams

I don’t know that I really have the right to ask that question, because I am not going after my dream job either. But don’t get me wrong, if I was a stay at home wife I would go for it again. Yes AGAIN! Once upon a time I was working my dream job on a part-time basis and interning on the weekends to learn from the real professionals in the industry. In this particular industry I could not just quite my day job, as I had to pay the bills some way. And its one of those industries that you need a big cushion of money to live on until you have enough clientele on a referral basis to keep you afloat.

What is my dream job you ask…Event Planner *spirit fingers* YAAAASSSS

I took the time to take some classes to learn as much as I could about what I dreamed of doing. I had to start somewhere. I am an Accredited Certified Event Planner. After getting my certification I sat down and wrote out a plan. I figured the best way to get started was to go out and find my first client. Who happened to be a new friend of mine. It was a small 5 year anniversary party, and it turned out to be an amazing classy and fabulous event. I knew that this was it all I wanted to do was plan great weddings and events. I figured that if I wanted to perfect my craft, I needed to learn from the best of the best in my city. So I did a great deal of research and applied for an internship at Unforgettable Events. I had a chance to learn from 2 of the most amazing women in the industry.

I know most of you want to know why I am no longer actively working my dream job. Let just say I had to choose between a full-time job with steady income and benefits or working my dream job that did not provide a steady stream of income at the point and time. And of course I had to make the grown up decision.

Don’t get me wrong, if I could do it all over again I would’ve followed my dream through. From time to time I have the chance to plan events for friends, but it’s not the same. In my personal opinion I would tell anyone to find a way to follow your dreams and stick with it.

Don’t be afraid to dream, and remember dream BIG.
